For more than two decades, Learning A-Z has worked alongside teachers to support K-6 literacy instruction. As the education landscape continues to evolve, so do the needs of teachers and students. That’s why we’ve refreshed our brand to clearly reflect our purpose and the values that guide us.

At Learning A-Z, we equip educators with practical, research-based literacy solutions that inspire joy in students. It’s what drives us and shapes every decision we make.

This commitment is our promise to the teachers we serve, and to the students whose futures depend on strong literacy instruction.

Why a Rebrand—and Why Now?

Teachers face incredible challenges: growing opportunity gaps, diverse student needs, high expectations, and limited time. At Learning A-Z, our role is to make their work easier, more effective, and more rewarding.

Our refreshed brand helps make that purpose unmistakably clear. It also highlights four principles that impact success and reflect what teachers have told us matters most:

• Putting teachers at the center of instruction
• Providing practical resources
• Acting on proven research
• Bringing joy to classrooms

These principles define how we support teachers, shape our solutions, and stay true to our promise of helping teachers shine so students can grow.

Teachers Are at the Center

I often say teachers are the greatest equalizer in education. No matter where a student comes from, the teacher in front of them has the single greatest impact on their learning outcomes.

As the RAND Corporation found, “When it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, teachers are estimated to have two to three times the effect of any other school factor.” 

Impact multiplies when teachers are well supported. That’s why we’re focused on helping them feel seen, valued, and equipped—so they can meet the needs of every learner in their classroom.

Practical Is Powerful

Teachers don’t need more complicated systems or endless piles of resources to sort through. They need practical tools that just work.

That means intuitive, flexible, high-quality materials that help them differentiate instruction, save time, and focus on what really matters: teaching.

We know the reality. The average teacher spends 7–10 hours a week searching for resources. That’s time they could be spending planning, connecting with students, or recharging for the next day.

Practical means effective. It’s clear, accessible, and built to work in real classrooms.

Acting on Proven Research

Research is only valuable if we act on it.

The science of how students learn to read continues to grow. There are well-established foundations, but best practices continue to evolve.

Being research-driven means refining our solutions as new findings emerge, and helping teachers align instruction with what we now know works best.

It’s one reason we deliver our products digitally—so we can adapt quickly, without waiting for a new edition or print cycle. We’re committed to putting learning science into practice.

Joy Is Essential

When we talk about rigor, we sometimes forget something fundamental: joy isn’t a distraction from learning. It’s what makes learning possible.

Joy fuels curiosity. It keeps students engaged and willing to try. It sustains teachers through the challenges of each day.

As one teacher shared, “I love seeing the excitement in my students' eyes every time we use Raz-Plus.”

That’s the kind of learning environment we want to help build. One where students feel safe, supported, and eager to grow. One where teachers rediscover their own love of teaching.

Living Our Commitment

This rebrand reflects our clear commitment to teachers and the values that guide us.

It also underscores our promise to keep delivering on those values. Over the past year, we’ve seen more than 23 million teacher downloads of Learning A-Z resources. Each student completed an average of 87 activities—a 21% increase over the previous year.

We celebrated the incredible impact of the Star Donation Challenge, where students gave over 1.7 billion stars earned through reading and learning activities to provide meals, clean water, and school supplies for communities in need.

Writing and Learning Together (WaLT), our digital writing platform for grades 2–5, continues to support classroom and at-home learning with intuitive, teacher-friendly design. This year, WaLT was also granted a patent for its innovative storage data process system—a major step forward in supporting student writers and their teachers.

And as of this month, Raz-Plus users now have access to Foundations A-Z^®, the explicit K–5 foundational skills solution built entirely on the Science of Reading. These enhancements make it easier for teachers to find and assign daily supplemental resources that meet their students’ needs.
